Two persons earns in the ratio 4 : 7
If both earns ₹3000 more the ratio of the earning becomes 2 : 3
Calculation:
Let the constant be x
∴ the two persons earns 4x and 7x
According to question:
$\left(4\mathit{x}+3000\right)/\left(7\mathit{x}+3000\right)=2/3$
$\Rightarrow 12\mathit{x}+9000=14\mathit{x}+6000$
$\Rightarrow 2\mathit{x}=3000$
$\Rightarrow \mathit{x}=1500$
Sum of the earning ∴ the required sum = ₹16500
