is 4 then find the value of k.

Root of the equation

3x^2 - 8kx = -16

Solution:
As, x = 4 is the root of the equation

⇒ 3x^2 - 8kx +16 = 0

⇒ 3 × 4^2 - 8k × 4 + 16 = 0

⇒ 48 - 32k + 16 = 0

⇒ 32k = 64

⇒ k = 64{/}32

∴ Value of k is 2
