tanθ = P/BP → Perpendicular
B → Base
Calculation:
Let the height of the tower is PQ and the length of the shadow is QR
So, we can consider the right angle at Q where R is the angle of elevation Now, in triangle PQR⇒ tanR = PQ/QR
⇒ tanR = 30/30√3 = 1/√3
We know that the value of tan 30° is 1/√3
∴ tanR = tan30°
⇒ R = 30°
∴ The angle of elevation is 30°
