Calculation:
The ratio of length and breadth of rectangle = 5 : 3
⇒ length of rectangle = 5x, breadth of rectangle = 3x
$\Rightarrow 5\mathit{x}-3\mathit{x}=8$
$\Rightarrow 2\mathit{x}=8$
$\therefore \mathit{x}=4$
length of rectangle $=5\mathit{x}=5\times 4=20\mathit{m}$
breadth of rectangle $=3\mathit{x}=3\times 4=12\mathit{m}$
area of rectangle = length × breadth
$\Rightarrow 20\times 12=240{\mathit{m}}^2$
