The average of five numbers is 50 and the average of the first three numbers is 35.
Formula used:
Average = Sum of all terms/Total number of terms
Calculation:
The average of five numbers = 50
∴ Sum of all five numbers = 50 × 5 = 250
And, the average of the first three numbers is 35
∴ Sum of first three numbers = 35 × 3 = 105
Now, sum of last two numbers = 250 – 105 = 145
∴ Average of last two numbers = 145/2 = 72.5
So, the average of the last two numbers is 72.5.
