GIVEN:
The sum and difference of present ages of Pavan and Amit are 116 years and 12 years respectively.
CONCEPT:
Concept of ages.
CALCULATION:
Suppose the present ages of Pavan and Amit are ‘X’ and ‘Y’ respectively.
So,
$\mathit{X}+\mathit{Y}=116$
And
$\mathit{X}\mathit{–}\mathit{Y}=12$
Solving both equations:
⇒ X = 64 and Y = 52
Hence,
Ratio of their ages after 8 years ∴ The ratio of their ages after 8 years is 6 : 5.
