Let the numbers be x and y.
∴

{x-y}/1

{x+y}/7

{xy}/{18}

= k
⇒ x - y = k ; x + y = 7k ; xy = 18k
⇒

(x+y)^2

(x-y)^2

= 4xy
⇒

49k^2

k^2

= 72k
⇒ 48k = 72
⇒ k =

{72}/{48}

∴ xy = 18k = 18 ×

3/2 = 27
