Solution:

If the maximum marks be x, then
40% os x = 483 + 117
⇒

{x×40}/{100}

= 600
⇒ x =

{600×100}/{40}

= 1500
∴ Minimum passing marks for girls
=

{1500×35}/{100}

= 525
