Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor was awarded the Da- dasaheb Phalke Award at the 62nd National Film Awards held in May 2015. The Da- dasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest award in cinema. It is presented annually at the National Film Awards ceremony by the Directorate of Film Festivals, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
