Narayan Desai was a noted Gandhian, known for his rendition of Gandhi Katha - stories on the Mahatma’s life. He passed away in Surat in March 2015. He started a lecture series on Gandhiji called ‘Gandhi Katha,’ in 2004. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award for Gujarati in 1 993 and the Jamnalal Bajaj Award in 1999.
