If a number Is divided by the other number, the division is 3/5 , if their difference is 28. 5 what is the bigger number of the two?

Solution:

Let two numbers be xand y.
∴ According to the question,

x/y

3/2

or, 5x - 3y = 0....(i)
Again, x - y = 28
or, 5x - 5y = 140....(ii)
From equation (1) and (ii) we get
y = - 70 and x = - 42
