The total number of laptops sold by all the five companies in May is by what percent more or less than the total number of laptops sold by all 5 companies in April?

Solution:

(5) Total number of laptops sold:
April ⇒ 800 + 400 + 1000 + 1200 + 600 = 4000
May ⇒ 1200 + 1000 + 800 + 960 + 1200 = 5160
∴ Required per cent

= ({5160 -4000 }/4000) ×100

=1160/40 = 29%
