Hybridisation is a process of crossing different species/varieties of plants to create a hybrid. Two main objectives of hybridisation are to produce a single variety having combination of good characters an increase and generate the variations through recombination. When the parents of two different species of the same genus are crossed to produce a hybrid, it is called inter specific hybridisation.
