(1) Zidovudine (ZDV), also known as azidothymidine(AZT), is an antiretroviral medication used to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS. It is generally recommended for use with other antiretroviral. It may be used to prevent mother to child spread during birth or after a needle stick injury or other potential exposure. It is sold both by itself and together as lamivudine/zidovudine and a b a c a v i r / l ami v u d i n e /zidovudine. It can be used by mouth or by slow injection into a vein. Miconazole, sold under the brand name Monistat among others, is an anti fungal medication used to treat ring worm, pityriasis versicolor,and yeast infections of the skin or vagina. It is applied to the skin or vagina as a cream or ointment.
