(3) Sung Yun was a great Chinese traveller who visited India in the early part of the 6th century A.D. On the orders of the empress of the Wei dynasty,he embarked upon a visit to India in 518 A.D. His visit was restricted to north west of India especially to the Swat valley and Gandhara. Sung Yun returned to China in 522 A.D.
