Downward acceleration of lift, a=1.8ms−2
Let T be the tension in the rope connected with lift, g be the acceleration due to gravity (10ms−2).
As, lift is moving in downward direction ∴‌‌mg−T‌‌=ma
⇒‌‌T‌‌=mg−ma=m(g−a)
‌‌=60(10−1.8)=60×8.2
‌‌=492N
Hence, the weight of the man during downward acceleration is 492N.
