Length of three pencils A, B and C is in the ratio = 2 : 3 : 4
Length of B and C increase by 4units and 8units
Then, the ratio of length of A and C = 2 : 5
Calculation:
Let the constant be x
∴ the length of A, B and C = 2x, 3x, 4x
According to question:

⇒ 10x = 8x + 16
⇒ 2x = 16
⇒ x = 8
Length of pencil B = 8 × 3 = 24
∴ the length of pencil B = 24
