(1) Every host (computer) and every router on the internet has a unique address, called its IP address. This is a 32 bit address, which is attached to the data gram to indicate the source and destination of the packet. The IP address consists of two parts: one part identifies the network to which the host belongs and the other part is a unique number within that network
