(2) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in July 2015, unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. The Prime Minister described Mahatma Gandhi as a “vishv maanav” - one who was not bound by man-made borders. During his visit, India and Kyrgyzstan decided to boost defence cooperation and hold annual joint military exercises.
