(3) The Government of Japan on 23 July 2012 decided to honour Indian Environmental philosopher Vandana Shivawith Fukuoka Prize 2012. Vandana Shiva is the seventh Indian who received this prestigious award. She is the director of The Research Foundation for Science, technology and Ecology.
