(4) Justice H.L. Dattu has been the chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) since 29 February 2016. He had served as the Chief Justice of India from 28 September 2014 to 2 December 2015. Justice Dattu succeeded Justice Cyriac Joseph who served as NHRC chairman from May 11, 2015 to February 28, 2016.
