(1) Naypyidaw is the capital city of Myanmar. The capital of Myanmar was officially moved from Yangon to Naypyidaw on 6 November 2005 because the latter is more centrally located than the old capital is situated on the coast and therefore vulnerable to an amphibious invasion. Naypyidaw is located between the Bago Yoma and Shan Yoma mountain ranges.
