(3) Masdar in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates is the world’s first zero-carbon, car-free city. Designed by the British architectural firm Foster and Partners, the city relies on solar energy and other renewable energy sources. Prime Minister Narendra Modi toured Masdar in August 2015.
