Solution:

(a) Area of circle = 308
∴

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\ { 22 }/ { 7 } ×\r ^ { 2 } = 308

⇒

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;r^2=98

⇒

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\; \r

= 9.9 (approx)
∴ Length of wire = 2 πr

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;=2×22/7×9.9

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;=435.6/7=62.22

∵ Length of wire = Perimeter of square

\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;\;62.22 = 4\a

∴ Area of square =

\a^2 = (15.56)^2
