Total work = number of men × number of days
Calculation:
Let efficiency of man be ‘M’ unit and woman be ‘W’ unit
$\Rightarrow 6\mathrm{M}\times 10=5\mathrm{W}\times 12$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{M}=\mathrm{W}$
Now,
$\Rightarrow 1\mathrm{man}\mathrm{and}2\mathrm{women}=1\mathrm{M}+2\mathrm{W}=1\mathrm{M}+2\mathrm{M}=3\mathrm{M}$
Let 3 man complete the work in $\mathrm{x}$ days
$\Rightarrow 6\mathrm{M}\times 10=3\mathrm{M}\times \mathrm{x}$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{x}=20\mathrm{days}$
∴ 1 man and 2 women complete the work in 20 days.
