Calculation:
Let the cost price be $\mathrm{Rs}.\mathrm{x}.$
According to question
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{S}.\mathrm{P}\mathrm{of}25=23\mathrm{x}$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{S}.\mathrm{P}\mathrm{of}1=\frac{23\mathrm{x}}{25}$
We can see S.P is less than C.P
So there is loss
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{Loss}\%=\frac{\left[\mathrm{x}-\left(\frac{23\mathrm{x}}{25}\right)\right]}{\mathit{x}}\times 100$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{Loss}\%=\frac{\left(25\mathrm{x}-23\mathrm{x}\right)}{25\mathrm{x}}\times 100$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{Loss}\%=\left(\frac{2}{25}\right)\times 100$
$\Rightarrow \mathrm{Loss}\%=8\%$
∴ There will be a $8\%$ loss.
