Speed of the train = 60 $\mathrm{km}∕\mathrm{hr}$
Time is taken by a train of crossing a pole = 9 seconds
Concept used:
The distance travelled by train will be its length.
Formula used:
$\mathrm{Distance}=\mathrm{speed}\times \mathrm{time}$
1 km = 1000 metre
And 1 hour = 3600 seconds
Calculation:
Length of the train = 60 $\mathrm{km}∕\mathrm{hr}$ × 9 seconds
⇒ $\left[\frac{\left(60\times 1000\right)}{3600}\right]\times 9$
⇒ $\frac{\left(600\times 9\right)}{36}$
⇒ 150 meters
∴ The length of the train is 150 metres.
