We know that,
The graph of the equation, x = m, where m is a constant is a straight line parallel to Y axis. And,
The graph of the equation, y = m, where m is a constant is a straight line parallel to X axis
Given first graph is,
2x + 1 = 0
⇒ 2x = - 1
⇒ x = $-\frac{1}{2}$
∴ 2x + 1 = 0 or x = $-\frac{1}{2}$ is a straight line parallel to Y axis.
And,
Given second graph is
3y – 9 = 0
⇒ 3y = 9
⇒ y = 3
∴ 3y – 9 = 0 or y = 3 is a straight line parallel to X axis.
∴ Co-ordinate of the point of intersection of these two straight line is $(-\frac{1}{2},$ 3)
