HOTSPOT
NRP
Though located in Nation X, Company Y frequently hires people who, at the time of their hiring, are not residents of Nation X and will have to relocate. To facilitate the relocation, the company has a new resident program (NRP) that helps nonresident employees complete all the tasks necessary to begin work at Company Y and obtain permanent housing in Nation X.
Each employee’s first task in the NRP is to move into company-owned temporary housing that is used only for this program. The employees live there until they find permanent housing in Nation X. In addition to providing the temporary
housing, Company Y also provides legal assistance for any NRP task that requires it.
In the last 30 days, 60 newly hired employees began participating in the NRP. No other Company Y employees participated in the NRP during this time.
Principal Task Dependencies
With arrows, the diagram shows the dependencies for the 8 principal tasks that participants complete in the NRP. Ovals indicate that the task requires legal assistance to complete. For instance, the diagram indicates that prior to starting work, an NRP participant must obtain a work to permit (a task that requires legal assistance) and obtain a bank account (a task that does not require legal assistance). All dependencies among these tasks are represented in the diagram.
Current Progress
For the Company Y employees who began the NRP in the last 30 days, the table shows how many have completed each of the 8 principal tasks.
