The product of three integers X, Y and Z is 192. Z is equal to 4 and P is equal to the average of X and Y. What is the minimum possible value of P?

Solution:

XYZ = 192

and

Z = 4

So,

XY = 48

P=\;{X+Y}/{2}

For finding the minimum possible of

{P}, {X}+ {Y}

should be minimum Now, the possible values of

X

and

Y

are as follows

So, from this we can clearly see that

X + Y

will be minimum only when X = 8 and Y = 6 or vice-versa
So minimum value of

P=\;{8+6}/{2}=7
