Let the total employees in an office $=\mathit{x}$
Number of male employees in an office $=\mathit{x}\times \frac{40}{100}$ $=\frac{2\mathit{x}}{5}$
and number of female employees in an office
$=\mathit{x}-\frac{2\mathit{x}}{5}=\frac{3\mathit{x}}{5}$
number of tall employees in an office = $\frac{\mathit{x}}{2}$
and number of short employees in an office= $\frac{\mathit{x}}{2}$
number of short male employees $=\mathit{x}\times \frac{10}{100}$ = $\frac{\mathit{x}}{10}$
number of short female employees $=\frac{\mathit{x}}{2}-\frac{\mathit{x}}{10}=\frac{2\mathit{x}}{5}$
number of tall female employees = 40
⇒ $\frac{3\mathit{x}}{5}-\frac{2\mathit{x}}{5}=40$
⇒ $\frac{\mathit{x}}{5}=40$
∴ $\mathit{x}=40\times 5=200$
Hence, number of tall male employees
= $\frac{\mathit{x}}{2}-40=\frac{200}{2}-40=60$
