Dictate : state or order authoritatively. Persuade : induce (someone) to do something through reasoning or argument. Confuse : make (someone) bewildered or perplexed. Censor : an official who examines books, films, news, etc. that are about to be published and suppresses any parts that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. Bowdlerise : remove material that is considered improper or offensive from (a text or account), especially with the result that the text becomes weaker or less effective.
