Let the present age of Ajay and Vijay be 2x and 3x respectively (∵ They are in 2 : 3 ratio)
Ratio of their ages 4 years ago = (2x – 4) / (3x – 4)
3/5 = (2x – 4) / (3x – 4)
Cross multiplying
9x – 12 = 10x – 20
∴ x = 8
Present age of vijay = 3x = 24 years
