Calculation:
Cost price of an item = 486 × (100/108) = Rs. 450
New selling price of an item = 414
⇒ Loss $=450\mathit{–}414=\mathit{R}\mathit{s}.36$
∴ Loss percentage = $\left(\frac{36}{450}\right)\times 100=8\%$
