Discount = Rs. 600
Profit percentage = 20%
MP = Rs. 3000
Calculation
Selling price of the article

= 3000 - 600 = 2400

Hence, cost price of the article = 2400/1.2 = 2000
∴ Amount by which the article is marked up above its cost price

= 3000 - 2000 = 1000
