Ratio of 2 numbers is 3 : 4
Each number is increased by 2 New ratio of numbers = 7 : 9
Calculation:
Let the numbers be 3x and 4x
According to the question,
$\frac{\left(3\mathit{x}+2\right)}{\left(4\mathit{x}+2\right)}=\frac{7}{9}\Rightarrow 9\left(3\mathit{x}+2\right)=7\left(4\mathit{x}+2\right)$
⇒ $27\mathit{x}+18=28\mathit{x}+14$
⇒ $\mathit{x}=4$
∴ The numbers are $3\times 4=12$ and $4\times 4=16$
