Find the smallest number which when divided by 8, 15 or 7 leaves a remainder 6 in each case.

Solution:

Concept:
In cases where the smallest number is asked which when divided by some numbers leaves the same remainder in each case, we find LCM of these numbers and add the remainder to it to get the required smallest number.
Required smallest number = LCM + remainder
Calculation:
LCM of 8, 15 and

7 = 8 × 15 × 7 = 840

∴Required smallest number

= 840 + 6 = 846
