Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched the "Panchvati Yojana" for senior citizens of rural areas in the state.
Under this scheme, parks and gardens will be developed in all the development blocks with necessary facilities under theMGNREGA scheme of the Rural Development Department.The main objective of the scheme is to provide parks and gardens along with entertainment to the senior citizens of the state.
These parks and gardens will be developed on the flat land of minimum one bigha in MNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and 14th Finance Commission Convergence.Thakur informed that during the current financial year as many as 100 such parks would be developed in different parts of the state.
