A bag contains Rs. 90 in the form of coins of one rupee, 50p & 25p. The number of 50p coins is one third of the number of 25p coins & four times the number of one rupee coins. What is the total number of coins in the bag?

Tips & Tricks
Let the number of 50p coins be x
Number of 25p coins = 3x
Number of 1 rupee coins = x/4

0.50x + 0.25(3x) + (x/4)1 = 45

1.5x = 90 ⇒ x = 60

Total number of coins =

4x + x/4 = 255
