Answer the questions on the basis of given information:
A and B are two railway stations which are linked with station C through a straight line. Two trains going towards A and B simultaneously start from C and non-stop reach A and B with constant speeds

The distance of B to C is three-forth of the distance between A to C. Even then at 72 kilometre per hour A-bound train reaches at the same time as of B-bound train. What is the speed of the train going to B from C?

Validate

Solution:

Let CA = d km

∴CB=3/4d

t_1=d/72

and

t_2=3/4d

According to the question,

t_1=t_2

∴d/72=3/{4×x}d

⇒ x = 54 km/hr
Hence, the speed of train running from C to B is 54 km/hr.
