Let number of ₹ 5 and ₹ 10 coins are x and y respectively.
then from question,
x + y = 25 ....(i)
and 5x + 10y = 160
x + 2y = 32 ....(ii)
from (i) and (ii), we have.
2y – y = 32 – 25
y = 7
Now, x + y = 25
x + 7 = 25 ⇒ x = 25 – 7 = 18
Hence, number of ₹ 5 and ₹ 10 coins are 18 and 7 respectively.
