Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory Gardner’s general recommendation for applying MI theory in the classroom is essentially the same as Sternberg’s. He believes that teachers should use MI theory as a framework for devising alternative ways to teach subject matter. Some children learn a subject best when it is presented in a particular format or emphasizes a particular type of ability, whereas other children learn well when the subject is taught under different conditions.
