for every subsequent kilometre travelled. Manju pays

as fare to travel from her house to the railway station. How far is the railway station from her home?

Solution:

Let the required distance be

According to the question,

50+(x-2) 16=258

50+16 x-32=258

16 x =258+32-50

16 x =240

x ={240}/{16}=15

∴ Total distance

=15 {\km}
