Polysemy is the association of one word with two or more specific meanings. A polyseme is a word or phrase with multiple meanings. The adjective forms of the word include polysemous or polysemic. A homograph is a word that has the same written form as another word but has a different meaning. Homonyms are words which sound alike or are spelled alike, but have different meanings. Homonymy is the relation between words with identical forms but different meanings.
