A language laboratory is an audio or audio-visual system used in modern language teaching. They can be found, amongst other places, in schools, universities and academies. It provides practice in an entertaining and interactive way to acquire the four main language skills including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is also designed to assist the learner in the acquisition of mechanized speech habits.
