NCF 2005 emphasises that school learning should not be confined to textbooks alone; teaching-learning experiences should be embedded in the child's life experiences. For this, it is necessary that learning should be shifted form rote method. This clearly requires that the school system should be flexible, allowing innovation and promoting creativity among children. Overall development of the child should be emphasised.
