Solution:

According to the question.
Sum of their perimeters = 100 cm

⇒4x+4(2x+1)=100

⇒4x+8x+4=100

⇒12x=100-4

⇒12{x}=96

⇒x=8

Area of square with side 'x' cm

=8^{2}=64{cm}^{2}

Area of square with side

(2x+1){cm}=(8×2+1)^{2}

=17^2

=289cm
