Given, the area of a quadrilateral $=227.2\mathit{c}{\mathit{m}}^2$
Let, ${\mathit{d}}_1$ = first diagonal
= 7.2 cm + 8.8 cm = 16 cm
and ${\mathit{d}}_2$ = second diagonal
According to question,
Perpendiculars from the opposite vertices to a diagonal i.e., quadrilateral is a rhombus
Therefore, Area of a rhombas $=\frac{1}{2}\times {\mathit{d}}_1\times {\mathit{d}}_2$
$\Rightarrow 227.2\mathit{c}{\mathit{m}}^2=\frac{1}{2}\times 16\times {\mathit{d}}_2$
${\mathit{d}}_2=\frac{227.2}{8}$ = 28.4 cm
Hence, the length of the diagonal = 28.4 cm.
