and

is:

Solution:

Given fractions are -

\;6 \/ 7=0.857

\;2 \;{3}/{5}=\;{13}/{5}=2.6

\;3 \/ 8=0.375

\;2 \;{8}/{15}=\;{38}/{15}=2.533

Clearly, smallest fraction is

3 \/ 8

and largest fraction is

2 \;{3}/{5}=\;{13}/{5}

\;\;\text " Sum "\;=3 \/ 8+2 \;{3}/{5}

\;=3 \/ 8+13 \/ 5

\;=(15+104) \/ 40

\;=119 \/ 40=2 \;{39}/{40}
