The probability that mobile is a success, given that it is released by the Company A is

.The probability that a mobile is a success and released by a Company Bis

0.28

. A mobile released by either Company A or Company B during the next one year is a success. Find the probability that it is released by Company A.

Solution:

We have,

\P(\A)=0.7, \P(\S \/ \A)=0.8

and

\P(\B) ×\P(\S \/ \B)=0.28

∴ Required probability

\P(\A \/ \S)={\P(\A) .\P(\S \/ \A)}/{\P(\A) \P(\S \/ \A)+\P(\B) \P(\S \/ \B)}

={0.7 ×0.8}/{0.7 ×0.8+0.28}

={0.56}/{0.56+0.28}

={0.56}/{0.84}

={2}/{3}
